Mario Party 10 is a party video game developed by Nd Cube and published by Nintendo for Wii U. It is the tenth "main" game in the Mario Party series, the fourteenth in the franchise, and the first and only game in the series for the Wii U. The game was released worldwide in March 2015.
Mario Party 10 continues the tradition of the Mario Party series, in which four players, controlled by either human or CPU, compete against each other on a game board by participating in various minigames. Along with the standard competitive modes, the game introduces two new modes called Bowser Party and Amiibo Party.
Known Issues
A select few mini-games still crash when encountered, but most work now. You will still need a wiimote to control some of these mini-games since they tend to use the wiimote pointer.
Configuration
To play set Controller 1 using a Gamepad profile (Pro Controller don't work) and then use the "Separate Gamepad View" with your mouse (buttons which only appear on the Gamepad and not on the TV).
For some minigames, you need Motion Controls to play correctly (ex: Bowser's Bad Breath).
To use motion controls a Dolphin Bar is necessary. Connecting Wiimotes via bluetooth is supported however the accuracy of the onscreen pointer may not function correctly using bluetooth so some testing is needed.
NOTE If you plan to use a Dolphin Bar it may help to install the Dolphin emulator as well and configure the wiimotes through that as well.

|
Amiibo
|
Mario Party 10 - Amiibo save error |
Cemu supports the reading of Amiibo .bin files however saving a configuration to an Amiibo is required before gameplay can begin and saving (as of version 1.22.3) is not currently functioning.
|
Bowser Party
|
Mario Party 10 - Play as Bowser level options |
To play this mode as Bowser set Controller 1 using a Gamepad profile (Pro Controller don't work) and then use the "Separate Gamepad View".
If you have a smartphone to use you could try displaying the "Separate Gamepad View" on the smartphone screen using the Spacedesk app.
And to use motion controls when playing Bowser the Gamepad view try setting up motion controls on an Android phone using BSOD Gaming's guide.
Note that you can also play the Bowser mode as "Team Mario" using a Wiimote where Bowser is controlled by the computer.
You may experience game crashes when playing through the selection of three game boards here. You may get as far as the "Home Straight" and the game will crash or sometimes it may not.
When accessing the "Free Play" mode the game may also crash.
|
Mario Party
|
Mario Party 10 - Play as Team Mario level options |
To play this mode use of a Wiimote is preferable and using a Dolphin Bar as referred to above.
The "Mario Party" mode includes more game boards, up to five along with a "Free Play" mode and an additional "Coin Challenge" mode.
And the "Free Play" includes more options than the "Bowser Party" mode.
Again you may experience crashes when playing the modes here. When playing through a game board you may get as far as as the "Home Straight" and then the game will crash, or sometimes it won't. Again perhaps the selection of mini-games the game will choose while playing may cause an issue.

Some people have managed to get into the game using this version of CEMU. Still the graphics are very poor and is in no way fully playable.

Runs
|
Crashes every now and then. Sometimes you can overcome stalls by pressing "A" on a controller. Sound FX are odd in mini-games only (stuttering), and there's a big drop in framerate in most mini-games! Both modes are playable, but mini-games sometimes ask players to hold the controller horizontally, so you have to hold your controller vertically to use the d-pad as intended.

Bowser Mode works pretty fine. I recommend a second screen to display the gamepad there. The "normal" Mario Mode loads but crases randomly (sometimes at the start, sometimes later) and Mini Games will lag as hell.

Tested using both OpenGL and Vulcan. Mario mode tested and appears to work fine. There is a mini-game inside the "Whimsical Waters" map which features a boss that is a fish that players must shoot cannons at. However the boss which is not visible when playing so the mini-game cannot be completed correctly so avoid for now. Reading Amiibos via NFC appears to function but trying to configure Amiibos appears to crash the game. If you launch the game and before you do anything else you read an NFC tag Ammiibo file it will unlock the additional Amiibo supported Party Mode but as said it is not playable as the game does not seem able to write to Amiibos in the way Super Smash Bros can. The same applies when choosing the Amiibo specific modes, the Amiibo may be recognised but cannot be configured so you cannot continue. NOTE in Bowser mode the Gamepad is to be used but the Gamepad view is displayed also in the main application window so you need to press Tab key to show the TV screen view rendering it unplayable in a way

I created a fresh install of Cemu and followed BSOD Gaming's latest setup guide and I moved the copy of Mario Party 10 to the same drive and directory as Cemu and it has not crashed since. Or at least when playing 3 maps one of which definitely crashed before. All minigames appear to function correctly with all characters and items visible along with motion controls for Wii remotes using a Mayflash Dolphin Bar.
