Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is a side-scrolling 2D platformer developed by Wayforward. It is the fourth game in the Shantae series and was the first game in the series to be crowdfunded. It was also the first to feature entirely voxel-based graphics rather than the pixel-based art of prior games. It was released on December 20th, 2016, with an "Ultimate" edition releasing later releasing on the Nintendo Switch.

Known Issues

Projection issues

Many 2.5D elements (meaning flat sprites that are not orthogonally projected, but exist as objects in the 3D world) are stretched in a strange way, as though their Y and Z coordinates got confused during projection. This affects most particles in the game as well as character portraits, but does not hinder gameplay.

The only notable bug is a projection matrix (?) issue on 2.5D surfaces causing particle effects and character portraits to appear distorted, and very rare garbage near the bottom of the screen.
