Minecraft: Wii U Edition is a Wii U game released by Mojang AB and 4J Studios. It is a port of Minecraft, a sandbox PC game with a blocky aesthetic centered around gathering resources to survive, exploring the randomly generated terrain, and creating worlds and sculptures using a variety of colorful blocks and tools, though the objective is largely based on the player's direction. It was originally released for the Nintendo eShop on December 17, 2015. The original game includes references to the Mario franchise, such as a painting featuring 100m from Donkey Kong (which was based on a painting by Kristoffer Zetterstrand), and the Wii U Edition keeps these references. However, the Wii U Edition also has an exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up Pack that was released alongside the physical edition.
This game must be updated to work. v688 is the latest update for all regions.
The game will also crash without the Compatibility files from your Wii U, listed below.
External files
Minecraft require four files not provided by the emulator to pass the start screen:
filename
size in bytes
FFLResHigh.dat
3,871,104
FFLResHighLG.dat
3,856,000
FFLResMiddle.dat
1,490,368
FFLResMiddleLG.dat
1,489,600
These files must be dumped from your Wii U. https://cemu.cfw.guide/online-play - Dumping your Online Files with Dumpling includes the Compatibility Files
If you're dumping these files manually, they go into the following directory:
mlc01\sys\title\0005001b\10056000\content\
Alternatively, you can use the "Crash Fix" workaround graphic pack to fix this.
Takes extremely long time to boot, and crashes when generating a new world. Works with existing worlds & the Tutorial level. Seems to require the same additional files as New Super Mario Bros. U as it did not boot without them. Audio seems to be significantly improved over 1.7. Still requires GPU buffer to be set to high or it will have severe graphical glitches. Texture filtering seems to be glitched at all times as textures in the distance are incorrect, but as you approach them they change to normal. Has moments when it will dip to 1fps then go back up, and sometimes it will dip to 1fps and crash. disabling RDTSC will improve performance. Unable to test online as I do not have a way to get the correct files.
Tried cemu 1.9, 1.10, 1.12 and 1.13 all with negative ends. Important: Must run Minecraft: Wii U Edition with update v304 applied since any update starting from v320 will crash the emulator. And remember to obtain file FFLResHigh.dat etc. Issues: Cannot load saved games! Complex sounds make the game stuttering!
