LEGO Dimensions features the same style of gameplay as the previous Lego video games of Traveller's Tales, in which up to two players control Lego minifigures based on various represented franchises. Players progress through linear levels, using their characters' abilities to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and attempt to reach the level's end. Characters are entered into the game by placing their respective minifigures onto a USB toy pad, with each character possessing unique abilities that can be used to solve puzzles or reach hidden areas. Using a character from a certain franchise will also unlock that franchise's Adventure World, an open-world area for players to explore and complete in-game objectives.
Voice line audio quality is poor and also too quiet.

Configuration
This game does not require non-default settings to run properly but it's necessary to have an emulated or real LEGO Toy Pad connected.
You must connect the real LEGO Toy Pad before launching CEMU. Otherwise, it will not be recognized by CEMU.
If you don't have a Toy Pad, Cemu 2.4 and later include a virtual Toy Pad under Tools/Emulated USB Devices. Also Toy Pad emulator exists as a seperated cross-platform project, usable with CEMU and original WiiU
Needs ToyPad Emulator by Berny23. Lighting mostly works in a small square around the player. Most visual effects/particles are missing. This includes effects for objects that must be used with Gandalf's magic (might make some puzzles harder unless tips are set to "always visible").
Very few crashes (2 in 8 hours). Most visual effects/particles seems to be here, but effects like "blue stars" to alert magic interaction needed is not displayed. Original Toy Pad works on USB1 and USB2 ports but not USB3.
The particles effects "blue stars" to alert magic interaction needed are displayed ONLY if you change your graphics engine on general parameters and reload CEMU (Using Vulkan or OpenGL is not an issue); the other particles effects like "Neurotoxin clouds" are stil invisible. Deleting the shader cache if characters appear to have weird coloring. Original Toy Pad works on USB1 and USB2 ports but not USB3.
