Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is an action-adventure video game developed by Big Red Button and published by Sega for the Wii U console. Along with Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for the Nintendo 3DS, the game is a spin-off of Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series and is a part of the Sonic Boom franchise, which also consists of an animated television series (whose games serve as prequel), a comic series by Archie Comics, and a toyline by Tomy. The game was retitled as Sonic Toon: Ancient Treasure (ソニックトゥーン 太古の秘宝 Sonikku Tuun Taiko no Hihou) for its Japanese release.
Characters teleporting and going out of bounds in running sections
This is the problem of the in-game engine. Currently, the only way to fix the problem with the running sections is frequently pausing on the laggy parts and hoping the characters will stay on the road.
Cutscenes stuttering
As mentioned above this is the problem of the in-game engine. There is currently no way to fix this, as this depends on the hardware and wasn't happening in the original console.
Some frame drops, specially on load screens. Stutters during gamepaly. Voices output go through Gamepad speakers. Both TV and Gamepad should have the same speakers output set
On this version is very better than some months ago, but minor glitches appears sometimes. Voices in cutscenes not working by default, but thanks to pablo5425 for solution: go to options, audio, set gamepad audio device and it works!.
Very bad texture flicking and missing textures. Supposedly caused by the changes made to the GPU buffer cache accuracy since 1.15.1. Using 1.15.1 works, but later revisions are broken. Technically playable but use 1.15.1 for now.
The game is playable to the end, unless there is a FPS drop (which is probably engine's problem). If FPS drops below 20, characters may teleport (making them fall out of bounds in running sections) and cutscenes may stutter.
