Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is an expansion of the Wii title Monster Hunter 3 (Tri), released on the Nintendo 3DS alongside a Wii U version. Take on the role of a hunter sent to explore a hunter's paradise in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, completing quests on the journey to seek and slay monsters whilst improving skills and earning equipment upgrades. Offering touchscreen functionality for the first time in the series, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate allows players to quickly access in-game books, weapons, field maps and mini games.
You need to install the patch (title id 0005000E10117200) to go past the splash screen.
JPN and V0 localised versions requires the System RPL Files + Software Keyboard Title Files to get to the main menu.
Software Keyboard does not appear when entering name
This is caused by old versions of the Resolution graphics patch , update to the latest on the Graphics Pack management screen.
Occasional screen flickering/flashing
There's currently no fix for it.
Emulator crash before completing the game
Setting the game profile to use Dualcore Recompiler let the game advance past the ending cutscene to the credits and resume play. See the second entry for CEMU 1.19 Video showing the issue.
Vendor-Specific Issues
Blocky artifacts throughout the entire screen on NVIDIA GPUs. This can be fixed by following this guide.
Missing text and UI elements on AMD GPUs and Intel GPUs. Fixed with version 1.11.6 for AMD.
Some logic breaks at 60 FPS
The engine for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is mainly built for 30 FPS. While it will run mostly issue free at 60 FPS, you will encounter some bugs. Namely, stamina usage is doubled on hammer and lance charging. Furthermore, it is nearly impossible to golf swing out of spinning bludgeon on the hammer. Right now limiting your FPS with NVidia control panel or equivalent will fix it. Limiting to 30 FPS should play as the developers intended, but menus are noticeably less responsive. 45 FPS is a nice middle ground where the spinning bludgeon to golf swing is possible, and menus are still snappy. Your mileage may vary, and more in-depth testing may discover a better middle ground.
Blackscreen, BUT when i start to just click A im getting weird pink/purple grafics hearing some sounds and when it stops to play sounds (prob. a intro) it seems to be freeze (cant hear anything anymore)
It crashed with cemuhook, but since cemuhook 0.5.5.1 came out, it's working with cemuhook. I came only to the creation screen because at the point where I have to type in a name, it doesn't work no matter what I do. The Game should work when using a safe from someone. To get the EU Version working, you need to install latest game update 1.02. Edit: Got it working with typing in the name thanks to Vouru. But then, when the video after creating a new character comes, Cemu crashes at the end of this video. So it's not playable.
Needs cemuhook 0.5.5.1, Creating a new char you need to deselect the emulation window then re-select it, type your name then hit enter, the name box wont show letters being typed but it will register. EU version updated to 1.02 still mandatory.
Needs cemuhook 0.5.5.1, Black screen in menu for lack of a HUD, if you press 'A' then you can get loaded into the game Missing some part of the UI. This bug is only on AMD GPU
Played while using cemuhook 0.5.5.1, again, a black title screen shows up as well as a black main menu up till character creation. However, with a few tries, you can load into the game but there will be missing text everywhere (Dialogues, options, menus etc). Textures take a short time to load after stepping into a new zone in the game but the zone loads almost instantly. These bugs only appear in AMD GPU
With cemuhook 0.5.5.4 and the most recent cemu version, all bugs appear to have been fixed for at least Nvidia systems. Audio was lost once but that was fixed by a cemu restart and may have been a personal error.
Played while using cemuhook 0.5.6.0, big transparent boxes appear in the place of selections in the main menu. However, with a few tries, you can load into the game but there will be missing text everywhere in-game (Dialogues, options etc). Textures take a short time to load after stepping into a new zone in the game but the zone loads almost instantly. These bugs only appear in AMD GPU
Played while using cemuhook 0.5.6.2, still colored transparent boxes appear in the place of main menu text. You can still load into the game but there will be missing text everywhere in-game (Dialogues, options etc). Textures take a short time to load after stepping into a new zone in the game but the zone loads almost instantly. These bugs only appear in AMD GPU
Played while using cemuhook 0.5.6.2, used a dual core recompiler had a steady frame rate and audio didn't cut out like it used to. The game was played with no graphics packs. There was some artifacting on the sides of the screen but not too much and was still playable.
While creating character when entering name, blind typing name and hit enter on keyboard worked. After creating character a video plays and once over the emulator crashed. Simply reopening Cemu passes the video allowing gameplay.
I had to put the v32 of the game to pass a black screen at the launching of the game. After that, the game crashed once on the intro cutscene and never crashed again. There are some gray squared artifact on the bottom and right sides of the screen, but the game is still very playable.
to fix the crash at the end of the intro, don't use Singlecore-Recompiler, instead set in the game profile Dualcore-Recompiler or Triplecore-Recompiler mode

Game will crash upon returning to the village from the farm, or entering Deserted Island Area 10. Fixed both of these issues by switching to OpenGl. No issues since!
Played on Vulkan and auto CPU mode, and no problems were noticed in doing all quests up to rank 4 village. Vulkan related problems mentioned before seem to have been fixed.
Run well on both (Vulkan and OpenGL) setting, but for better performance, use Vulkan. I can get 60FPS when playing it using 540p. But, if i set the graphic at 720p, the game run at 34-37fps. Minimum RAM 4GB. And yeah, i'm livestreaming too, subscribe my channel N A H O on youtube. I got 27-32FPS when streaming this game
Boots to a black screen on Vulkan. OpenGL runs at 60FPS without issues even if some light flicker is seen every so often, graphic issues seem to be extremely minute from my experience, besides the game not booting in Vulkan mode of course. Small note is that the game has physics tied to framerate, it's worth checking if 60 is the dev intended framerate because it's not for the 3DS version.
