'''Super Mario 3D World''' is a platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U. It is the sixth original 3D platform game in the Super Mario series and is the sequel to the 2011 Nintendo 3DS game Super Mario 3D Land. The game follows Mario and friends attempting to rescue fairy-like creatures called Sprixies from Bowser, who invades the realm known as the Sprixie Kingdom. The gameplay is similar to previous installments of the series, with players passing through individual levels to reach Bowser. The game also introduces a power-up called the Super Bell, which turns the character being played into a cat, enabling them to climb walls and use a scratch attack, as well as a character selector.

As of Cemu 1.21.1 this game plays and behaves as expected with Vulkan API (and most likely openGL).
A complete play-through is needed but long lasting issues like flames being invisible, "course clear"-screen missing the ground or being overexposed are now fixed.
Fixed in Cemu 1.21.1
Flames are now being rendered correctly
The "Course Clear" screen now has ground and isn't over-exposed
Configuration
This game does not require non-default settings to run properly.
A full list of config options is available in the Config template's documentation. There are also graphic packs available.
Recommended settings:
Just keep cemu at default, meaning;
Game Profile -> CPU Mode: Auto / Multi-core recompiler
General Settings -> Graphics: Async Compile (only applies if you are using the Vulkan API.
Cemuhook: Not needed for this title, but if you have it, leave everything set to "default", including the QPC to "Cemu Default".
Previously known issues for older cemu builds
Known Issues
Level 1-5 is slow/crashes
This is because Super Mario 3D World creates many dynamic textures in this level.
This also leads to visual bugs.
Larger GPU Memory and/or Bandwidth is required to reduce/eliminate its impact.
Dual Channel memory might help.
More powerful GPU may be required.
Level 3-B frame rate dips
Happens on all the levels where you swing down to the platform in a large dish.
Luigi Bros. crshes
When you try to play the Luigi version of the classic Mario Bros. arcade Cemu crashes after clicking play.
(Faster) Fort Fire Bros./Bowser Express/Switch Shock Circus/Other Level crashes
Can be caused due to GPU instability. Lower GPU Core Clock and/or increase voltage and/or power.
This GPU instability may be unnoticed due to stability in GPU stress tests.
Typical crash behaviour
GPU usage spikes to 100%.
Page-file commit increases anywhere from 2 GB to 5 GB.
Configuration
This game does not require non-default settings to run properly. A full list of config options is available in the Config template's documentation. There are also graphic packs available.
Recommended settings:
CPU Mode: Single-core recompiler
GPU Buffer Cache Accuracy: Low (fast)
Experimental: BotW crash workaround disabled, GX2DrawDone() can be enabled or disabled
Cemuhook: Custom timer: QPC, 1x speed
Stutters and sluggish shadows, lighting and rendering. But all aside, it's playable. One level with a dinosaur where you swim with it; drops high framerates.
Game runs fine. The first level has some shadow glitches, but the second one is pretty much perfect. Solid 55fps inside levels. CPU usage on ~25% and GPU usage on ~60%.
"Sound glitches (some sounds played incorrectly, most of the times are loud or laggy)
Graphical glitches (few levels are too bright, problems with shadows & textures, some make drop the FPS)
Weird slow-mo that sometimes fixes itself after few minutes/hours of playing.
No support for microphone blowing but 2-2 can be beaten."
Cloud shadows are improved and not an issue at all/broken on some levels tested and better lighting in general. Can now select/use Wii U Pro controllers properly/natively instead of gamepad via in-game options and all buttons seem to work without any issues.
Some levels impossible to complete due to lacking features (Breathing) / Physics glitches. Cannot go past 3-7 due to platforms bugging out and falling through the world where they'd normally stand still.
Lack of shadows in 2-3 in the section after checkpoint, lack of mic emulation for 2-2 and 1-Captain Toad (2-2 and 2-3 are difficult to complete; 1-Captain Toad is impossible), minor audio issues, significant FPS drops in most of world 1-5. From 1.4.2b multiplayer is supported and FPS doesn't really change from singleplayer.
There are lag on some levels and lag on stage selection
Some issues with Cemu itself:
Some levels require microphone.
Switch platforms fall off and respawn continuously and are impossible to bypass
The whole game is possible to beat, but will be stopped at the last level of this first Bonus World by switch platform glitch
Brief, low (30 or less) FPS during particle explosions. Lighting, shadow, and some texture popping issues. Circus stage unplayable due to extreme amounts of stuttering. Sounds being cut out particularly during cut scenes.
I get mostly 60 fps. But for some moments i see 50 fps, so i put an avergare. I'm in the World 3 already now i can blow. Note: Would be great if the Middle button for my Xbx 360 wireless (The Microsoft Button) can be mapped. I know you will Do :-)
some stages drop to 30FPS become slow motion. when play with 2 player sometime freeze in the world (need to close and open cemu [able to continue the game])
Minor glitches like screen flickering appear from time to time, when Stars appear the game slows down to about 20fps for a short time, still very playable.
Some Switchboards (the platforms moved by standing on one side) in World 3–7 (Switchboard Falls) and World Star–9 (Cosmic Cannon Cluster) constantly fall, making it impossible to ride on them. This can be fixed by closing and reopening the emulator; switching to the CPU interpreter (CPU > Mode > Single core interpreter); playing the level; and repeating steps 1 and 2, this time switching to the recompiler.
THIS IS AN UPDATE. No change on game-breaking bugs (2-3 switchboards on Switchboard Falls fall through and spawn continuously). Slowdown during fire or reflective sections of the game is slightly improved.
W1-5 still unplayable due to extreme amounts of stuttering. Background objects/textures disappear after the level beat character posing. White and black smoke from running or otherwise is flat and see-through. Audio crackles and pops a lot from explosive sounds like pow blocks.
UPDATE: The only reasons it gets Semi-Playable are that it slows down greatly in fire-heavy or mirrored stages, and and the falling platform bug prevents the last level Star World level from being completed. Otherwise very playable.
Still major FPS dips while the texture cache fills, most notably when running in overworld maps, but no dips once the cache is done. The lighting is pretty much perfect now. Slowdowns in fire-heavy or mirrored sections are noticeably reduced. Still have problems with the switchboards in 3-7 and Star-8, but the two at the end of 3-7, which were falling in 1.5.6b, are working properly now. Making progress.
Lags in different areas that it used to lag in, wide shots lag less, whereas close up shots lag more than before, some of the same issues as before but still playable
The game can be completed, but there are minor graphical glitches, including torches not showing flames and the foreground becoming invisible when clearing a level. Additionally, in World 3-7, the CPU needs to be to set to single core interpreter mode in order to not glitch.
You will have a level with some despawning / fall off the screen platformand reapear(better to use peach and circle jump to pass trhought thoses) Slowdown only for new entries on shader cache.
Great framerates most of the time, but a lot of stuttering/pauses(dynarec having to play catch up?). The emulator does not like the locked walls in world 1-5 and the game will lag severely and encounter a lot of graphical bugs until the switch puzzles are completed and the walls are removed.
60FPS but with sometimes with FPS Drops, in one Level there is some Stutter and the Glitch and the FPS sometimes falls to 6 FPS but for now that seems to only be for one Level.
Playing at 4K with pre-installed shader pack. Occasional music corruption, most notably at beginning, but after playing all of World 1 noticing no frame drops but the whole game stuttered into blackness on 1-4. Nearly perfect.
In order to make this game run with this GPU (thanks to the old legacy drivers 15.7.1 or 16.2.1), you have to run the game in fullscreen the whole time. That's a workaround for the crashing at the start. Music is distorted before levels. Low fps on heavy graphic needs, everything else runs fine.
I'm currently on World 6 and thus far the only issue has been world 1-5 where there is major slowdown when moving up platforms. Otherwise stable with no crashing.
Played until the end credits. Intro and end credits music is glitchy and slow. The game is usually at a consistent 60 fps, except for some slowdown on the Bowser World Map screen. 1-5 also slows down considerably and has heavy visual artifacts. Two optional levels could not load and caused the emulator the crash, but the game can still be beaten without completing them.
Some parts of some levels crashes when playing at 2x speed (via CheatEngine). Crashes are consistent until reduced to regular speed. Otherwise, no problems or distortions.
Perfectly smooth with at 1440p resolution using 1440p, No AA, and High Res Shadows Graphics Packs (using Nvidia FXAA to replace AA). Using single-core recompiler mode, no need for dual/triple.
Perfectly and Smooth with 1080p resolution using 1080p and High Res Shadows Graphics Packs . Using single-core recompiler mode. no more slowdowns, stuttering, issues
Cemuhook 0.5.6.2. Graphic packs: High Res Shadows, 1440P Pack , GX2DrawDone ON. CPU mode: Dual-core recompiler. GPU buffer cache accuracy: High. Playing is fun because it's 100% spot on 60 FPS with no stutter and 15ms Frametimes..
Cemuhook 0.5.6.4, GPU Buffer Cache Accuracy: Low, GFX Packs: 2560x1440 (1440p) Pack, High Res Shadows. CPU: Single-core Recompiler, UPDATE: ALL crashing issues (including 1-5) resolved but still has stutter issues with 1-5
The game runs perfectly at 60fps without stutter or drops, cemuhook version 0.5.6.5 used. GFX Packs used: 1440p resolution pack. The game actually works with Dualcore Recompiler but crashes after the first main bowser battle.
Certain areas in World 1-5 still produce severe frame rate drops and graphical glitches. There are some graphical glitches unique to the 4K graphics pack, such as a "blackout" flicker in World Castle-2 when collecting the first green star. The map of World Star occasionally experiences a complete blackout, during which the emulator simply displays a pitch-black screen. Otherwise, the game runs perfectly at 4K resolution thanks to the GFX pack, at 60fps.
Works Very Good! runs Mostly at 60fps using the 1440p Graphics pack and No Anti-Aliasing but there are some areas which slow down the Emulation and 1-5 still a stutters in some Areas.
Game runs extremely well while playing with the 3440x1440p Graphics Pack and Cemuhook version 0.5.7.0. Never once dips below 60FPS and I played through the whole first world with no crashes/graphical errors. Also played with the Triplecore Recomplier and did not crash after the first main bowser battle.
Played with 3440x1440p graphics pack and Cemuhook version 0.5.7.3. Certain areas in level 1-5 produce frame rate drops. Triplecore Recompiler occasionally crashes.
Played with 1920x1080, Aside from occasional stutters from Shader compiles, everything works great. 1-5 has graphical glitches where the background will randomly go black, massive stutters from area to area, floor tile patterns for 10 frames.
With V-sync activated Game doesn't reach Start Menu and freeze at a Black Screen. Game runs extremely well without and with Graphics Pack and Cemuhook version 0.5.7.3. (Shadows = High, Resolution = FullHD). The Game's Framerate doesn't drop down below 55FPS, and almost of the time is ever 60FPS, I've Used Vulkan and I haven't seen Glitches or Graphics Bugs, Just lvl 6-1 crash at start but passed it with OpenGL you can Return on Vulkan, Tested without Problems with Single-Core Recompiler, Dual-Core Recompiler, Triple-Core Recompiler.
Runs Without any complications on 100%, 200%, and 300% shadows without any frame drops. This test was with vulkan and double-buffered vsync. Also tested with 2 player and it made no difference to performance or stability.
