Pikmin 3 is a Real-Time Strategy game where your goal is to collect food for your starving planet. You use Pikmin to help you survive and to achieve your goal.
The game crashes on the initial cutscene that introduces the Plasm Wraith on the Formidable Oak map in Cemu versions older than 1.9.0. Update to 1.9.1 or newer to fix this.
Slowdown in Bingo Battles
The glowing line that appears when a player is close to winning causes the framerate to tank to about 15 - 20 fps. Once the animation disappears (whether a player has actually won or not) the framerate will NOT recover and the rest of the match will be slow. The slowdown stops when a match ends.
Configuration
This game does not require non-default settings to run properly. Optional there are graphic packs available.
If you are using Cemuhook, Cemuhook H264 must be disabled for video to play properly.
The sound doesn't seem to be locked to the fps in this one and the type of game makes it completely playable without any noticeable slowdown. Game looks very good due to quality rendered backgrounds. This is a nice break from the only other working titles (4 mario themed games if you count luigi's and MK8)
Green screen during intro, 30fps in-game and in in cutscenes/in-game tutorials. (set to EUR) Seemingly locked to 30fps everywhere. Minor stutter and sound glitches. Controls seems to have changed slightly from 1.4.1.
It does the little loading icon in the corner, but then when it takes that away its black screen and no sound... though it still says 30 fps in the top area with actual crash.
Green screen with slowed audio during intro, constant 30fps in-game and in in-game tutorials. No major changes from 1.5.6, appears to be AMD-GPU specific.
Opening cutscene is solid green with audio. Subtitles will flicker through green sometimes. Occasional but uncommmon slow-down/Stutter. Other than that, playable at 30fps. 1.8.1b Patreon Version
Cannot load without a save file already present or else game loads into Pikmin background, prompts to use a sensor bar for wii remote and then stays stuck on black screen. Killing firey Bullhogs crashes cemu.(reproducible) Few graphical glitches present. Framedrops from juicing fruit greatly reduced.
Shows picture of Pikmin at starting loading screen and asks about enabling Spotpass; after that it goes to a black screen stuck around 30 FPS and will not progress further. Not helped by prepopulating the relevant directory with a save file or ensuring GamePad is being emulated.
Crashes when killing any Blowhog. When using Intel GPUs, some objects in the game are brighter than normal. Using the -nolegacy fix however, corrects this. Randomly, sometimes the game freezes for a second but then the game internally resumes but for the user the screen is frozen. When using some controllers, unless you set the range to a higher percentage, you won't be able to move.
No longer crashes. Must pre-populate save data directory prior to playing. Day 1 is completely unplayable even when pre-populating save data directory. Juicing animation halves framerate to 15fps.
Day one still crashes even after adding save data. CEMU 1.14 also seems to have moved the location for save data so the guide I was using was wrong and on Linux the automated save game mover crashes. Otherwise the only real issue is that juicing drops the framerate considerably.
Must use a save to get past day one. Won't boot without it. Default settings except for triple-core compiler. Game graphics occasionally freeze while the rest keeps going. Pretty good otherwise.
